It feels good to just putter around the house. My den is about 1/3 of the way cleaned up and I’ll get more done today. I’m reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (third Summer) for my fun summer reading and cooking lots of great summer dinners. Last night, we had Chinese Chicken Stir Fry with bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, and almonds. You know me and my love of themes so we finished it off with a few games of Chinese Checkers. I forgot how much fun that was to play.
Tonight, we are heading to the Middle East and Egypt with a few games of Backgammon and a Meditteranean feast of Arabic Salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lemon juice and Romaine lettuce). We’ll also snack on some Hummus (Chick Pea Dip) and Whole Wheat Crackers and Stuffed Grape Leaves. Here’s a video which tells you more about Stuffed Grape Leaves, for the inexperienced potential chef who may be watching this. You gotta know about all kinds of food these days if you think you might wanna cook for the public. I confess, I’m not making mine, just getting them from a restaurant I like. Id try to make them if I knew where to buy the grape leaves. Yum!
