People can be exhausting sometimes! I had an interesting situation at work this week. A coworker got mad at me for “circumventing his authority.” I think if anyone’s authority was being undermined, it was mine! He decided to make a scene in front of my students in Monday. I knew it was coming. He can be such a bully sometimes. He hates that I got around him. And I’d do it again too! Good news is I did everything right. I asked politely for my coworker’s help, he refused. So I called the parent and made them aware of the scheduling issue. The parent wanted me to try to get the situation fixed. Other teachers were happy to help and the coworker felt forced to give in (or look like a you know what!) So, now he’s mad at me and won’t talk to me. Oh well! I can do without his bad vibes anyway. I’ll just send him love and move on. The moral of this true story is you don’t get away from toxic people just because you grow up. Some grown ups never grow up. The sooner you learn to “send them love and move on,” the sooner you will be on a happier road.
