Poetry month continues. And I’ll thrust just a bit upon you this night. Today, we’ll talk about imagery. The image below is kinda gruesome.
I think the poor man or woman holding their bloody heart is asking the WRONG person if they have the “key to their heart.” But this happens sometimes. You think someone is ok, and they end up being a nightmare. Poetry and art can be pretty painful. Tomorrow, my kids and I are studying the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. Her art was full of powerful images like this. She endured a lot of pain in her life. And it shows in her art. She’s my favorite artist. Here is her picture of her broken heart:
Her husband, fellow artist Diego Rivera, just could not be faithful to her. This broke her heart. Ever feel that way? I know you have. Xxoo
