I don’t know if you are both familiar with the story, Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. It is about a boy named Peter who refuses to grow up. He has the power of magic and lives in a place called Neverland. He meets a gal named Wendy and her two brothers in London. They go off on amazing adventures: fighting pirates, flying with fairies (Tinkerbell being the friend of Peter) and refusing to give into the demands of being a grown up. It’s a classic story. Disney bought the rights years ago. Well, when the story first came out in 1908, it was a play. J.M. Barrie was inspired to write the story by his love for a family of boys. Finding Neverland is the story of HOW a writer can be inspired. I remember the first time I saw it, I realized that all those beautiful moments that I see tagged onto reality – THOSE are the moments of inspiration. THOSE moments are the pieces that can be built into a story. So, if you’ve ever wondered HOW I am inspired by my deep love for you both /or/ WHERE all of my inspiration comes from, check out Finding Neverland. It will show you how to use your imagination to get you started writing. The movie is on Netflix. Here’s the trailer! Finding Neverland is not impossible. It is merely one happy thought away. And when you reach it, I’ll be there waiting for you.
