My students and I had a good day.  They were floored though when I told them about probationary periods in jobs.  Most jobs require a 90 day probationary period before they make you a permanent employee.  And if you are going for a career job, like being a nurse or a teacher, employers expect you to prove yourself for one to two years. Yup!

My student’s career power points are really shaping up.  Our district career fair is tomorrow at one of our local schools.  They are researching their careers and how they can improve on the four C’s: collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity. These are the 21st century skills that drive the instruction at my school.  Here is a very cool link that you both can explore to research what YOU want to do with your life.
