Coming and going from Catalina is always a thrill for me. And taking each of you kids there was a dream come true. Everywhere I look, I can see memories: where oldest brother got stung by a wasp, where older brother finally smiled on a Segway. There are memories or both of my sweet sisters too.
Bea wanted to be a model when she was on the island. So we tried to get some very arty photos of her. She got a bit shy in the process. Perhaps if we’d come to the island more prepared, it would have been easier for you, Bea. I was trying to get you to do something like this:
I remember the boat rides with you all too! I remember how Purity and I sat in the back of the boat as the wind whipped our hair all around.
Remember the boat ride ladies?
I remember pulling away from Catalina and a very long, very satisfying hug I received from Bea. We must have stood there hugging for five minutes. We were in the shade and our hair was flying all over. But we held that embrace for a while. As our boat pulls away today, I’ll be hugging you in my thoughts, Bea.
