Today is a big day for one of my Hebrew School students. It’s her Bat Mitzvah. Translated into English, Bat Mitzvah literally means daughter of the commandments. Isabella has been studying for years in preparation for this day. She’s learned to read Hebrew, she has learned tons of prayers in Hebrew. And today she’s going to show everyone that she can lead a service in Hebrew (well, 80% Hebrew) all by herself. We are all very proud of her! Next week, we have ANOTHER bat mitzvah and a huge party like the one on this video at the country club. I wish you could both go with me. You wouldn’t understand the Hebrew. But the prayer books are in English too. Then we could dance the afternoon away! Wouldn’t that be fun?! This is a video of a typical Jewish Bat Mitzvah.
