Truman Capote was an amazing American writer. He’s kinda dark though, which means he writes about situations that don’t end happily. But they are more true to life. One of my favorite stories of his is Breakfast at Tiffanys. Hollywood made it into a movie starring the incomparable Audrey Heburn. You might remember her picture up in my bathroom:
Truman also wrote a short story called A Christmas Memory. Grandma loves the part where the characters make a fruit cake for Christmas. She grew up in the same time period as this story so it reminds her of when she was a young girl growing up in Pennsylvania. This story takes place in the South.
