I went to an Oktoberfest the day after my birthday.  An Oktoberfest is basically a German party with lots of beer, German music and food: bratwurst (sausage) and potatoes.  I go where potatoes are – as you know.  I do enjoy a good beer.  I do enjoy alcohol.  Having a beer ( or three) with your oldest brother in Vegas was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.  But we have to be G rated here.  The German band,  at the Oktoberfest, played the music from the attached video at the Oktoberfest. Really strange/ funny family trivia here: Grandma and Grandpa ( my parents) had their first date on July 23 1967.  Yes, Purity’s bday!  They went to see the movie, The Sound of Music.  Afterwards, Grandpa stole a kiss from Grandma and started singing songs about a girl named ” Maria.” Maria is the main character in this movie clip from The Sound of Music.  Here is Maria and the children ( all seven of them) giving their father and his guests a treat by performing a puppet show for them.  Kids love performing for their parents.
