This song first premiered in the Disney movie, Hocus Pocus. Sarah Jessica Parker does a gorgeous job of singing it in the movie. But I also like this version created by KatetheGreat19 and the Suicidal Cat folks. Yes, I love playing with words. Obviously Kate loves it too. Wow! What amazing words in the song. Kinda sad, but also mysterious and alluring. It’s like there’s an enchantress singing outside the bedroom of some sweet children she loves, but has been parted from. She sings that “she’ll take them away to a land of enchantment.” Sounds kinda sketchy to me. 🙂 But, you be the judge. Good Enchantresses cast spells of loveliness, kindness and courage wherever she can. There are many kinds of magic, my sweet girls. In the circle of trees in my new home’s back yard we’ll “cast” a few spells by lighting a fire, toasting marshmallows and making s’mores. We’ll cuddle with blankets under the stars and giggle long into the night. The “quiet and calm” WILL be ours, if you so wish it. I know you do. And your wish is granted,” pronounced the Enchantress. 🙂
