Easter is a season for resurrection. Things that seem dead or asleep come back to life. It is the miracle of spring. Flowers close up and refuse to bloom during the winter, but come spring, they reawaken. Many animals hybernate through the winter and are coming alive during this time. Earth is waking up again. That is why eggs and flowers and baby animals are symbols of Easter. They are about the power of birth and rebirth. Some flowers close up at night and open in the morning: morning glorys and lotus flowers. The sun’s light helps this process happen, of course. And some flowers (sunflowers) turn towards the light to get it’s full effect.
I put some birdseed in my backyard yesterday and now the birds are enjoying a wonderful feast. It’s a beautiful day by the lake. The only thing that would make it better would be your being here: waking up in the lake house. I hope you are having a good day. Go outside and feel the sunlight. Then, like the sunflower, keep yourself pointed “towards the light,” all day long. I love you, sweet sisters. XOXO Prudence.
