As I stated in my last post, I’m going to do a bit of wine tasting. My heart was set on this. BUT, I’m being careful not to just follow my heart. You must LEAD your heart, not just follow it.
What is the difference?
Following your heart means you can hear what you REALLY want in a given situation. Believe it or not, lots of folks have a hard time with that. They are so busy doing what others want, they are clueless about what they, themselves want.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you are selfish for wanting things. It’s human to have desires. And we all NEED things – like space to grow up and make our own choices/mistakes.
But, you MUST be careful how you follow your heart. Why?
I KNOW for a fact that your hearts have been deceived. Welcome to the human race! It happens to all of us. So, learn from the mistake. Figure out WHERE/HOW you went wrong and don’t do it again!
That means you gotta take some responsibility for the situation. Not sure if you can take too much credit. Kids suffer for the choices their parents make. That’s a fact.
Let me see if I can give you an example using wine tasting…
You must be careful when drinking and driving. As a rule, you do not do it. You make sure you have someone drive so you can indulge in the drink.
But I have no one to drive and I’m at a vineyard, so I need to be careful. My heart says “drink and be merry.” My head knows that more than ONE 4oz glass will take me over the legal limit.
So, I’ll take advantage of the spitting bowls at each winery. I’ll taste, not swallow. And if I do drink 4oz of wine, I’ll wait a bit before I start to drive. I’ll drink lots of water and eat a hearty lunch to balance out the alcohol. I’ll buy bottles of wine I like and drink them – at home.
Lead your heart. Know what you want, but be smart about how you get it. That’s my rant for the day! Cheers!
Love you! Xxoo
