When I was in Scotland and France, I enjoyed my trip that much more because I had read up on the history of the countries I was visiting.  But history does NOT need to be tedious (boring).  There are historical history stories available that read much like soap operas do about history.  Ok, so it isnt ALL real.  You do have to check facts and figures on the internet sometimes, but that’s fun once you get into the stories.  I told you about the TV series Reign on the CW channel. Try typing in keyword: Reign on search bar of website.  Well, the second season is on Netflix. The third season is probably on the CW channel this fall.  It is all about Mary, Queen of Scots and her nemesis (enemy), Queen Catherine de Medici.  When I was at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, there was a wonderful exhibit about Mary.  I enjoyed it so much more because I knew the history.  Mary is like a friend to me now.  Long may she reign in my heart.  Unfortuneately, horrible things happen to her in the second season.  And its strange how watching sad or scary stories can actually make someone feel better if they are having a rough day. It’s a great escape and it costs you nothing.  Check it out. Bea will enjoy seeing the woman who played Anne of Green Gables play the evil, but alluring Catherine De Medici.  The De Medici’s are a ruling family of Italy, I think.  Gotta prepare for all possible outcomes in this situation, right?!.  And one is a trip to Italy!!
