Sometimes, you just have to try to let go and move on. I do forgive everyone involved for the way things have turned out. As far as they’re forgiving me, that’s not something I can really control. I did apologize to Father twice, and I tried talking to both of the parents several times. Just sick of getting run over by buses, you know! It happened at work too – in the last ten years – so I’m particularly cautious of it.
So my sweet sketchyscribe readers, now you understand that I’m not some Pollyanna type spouting off positivity because I’ve never known pain. I’m very familiar with pain. I just choose to deal with it and rise above it.
To that end, I decided to go up to the mountains and enjoy a bit of fun at Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest is a celebration that lasts from late September through October. Folks celebrate German culture by drinking beer and eating German food like bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels and strudel.
I’m not much for drinking parties. But tasting different beers from other parts of the world can be fun. And I do enjoy sitting in the beer garden and partaking in my favorite past time: people watching.
When I get a hankering for something good, I meander over to the food stalls and get myself some apple strudel or maybe a hot pretzel. Pretzels are pretty easy to make. Here’s how:
