You’ve probably learned in your history classes that Adolf Hitler killed 6 million Jews during World War II. Joseph Stalin, his Russian counterpart, killed even more. But, there was a band of Jews that chose to hide in the woods of Bellarussia. Thousands were saved because three brothers refused to leave them behind. Family can be a very strong bond. Even when these three brothers did not agree, they had a common enemy and a common goal: their freedom. Tonight, I’m watching the movie, Defiance. Maybe it’s because of movies like this that I will not yield to the powers that be. Watching movies like this bring out the warrior woman in me (notice, the women are being taught how to shoot too.) You have an inner warrior woman. Right now, she listens. She waits. Someday, she’ll have her moment. Just wait a bit longer. Warriors need to be good waiters sometimes. These warriors waited four years…for their freedom.
