Sing a Song

When I was a little girl, I used to sing along to my records.  I know how important your Ipod must be to you.  My music was my meditation: it helped me relax and clear my head.  It helped pull me out of sadness or depression I was experiencing.

When I was about seven, Grandpa used to take me on “dates” to concerts at his school. I’d get all dressed up and he’d take me out to dinner.  Next, we’d see the school concert.  The school sold their concert records as a fundraiser.  I still have some of those records.

This song is on one of those records.  It was very popular in the 1970’s. Karen Carpenter made the song famous.  I started singing it yesterday when I was thinking of you.  It’s a “feel good” song.  It always helps me to smile when I sing it.  I guess because the song reminds me to “sing of good things, not bad.”  Somehow it seems like you’d really appreciate the words to the song.  Let’s see…
