Suffering is Optional

In an effort to keep the information on the website interesting, I thought it might be cool to start a series of posts about spirituality.  These posts are not about Judaism or Christianity.  They are about a more Eastern religion that has helped me better understand why people do what they do.  This religion is Buddism.  I think that Judaism and Christianity have so many great ideas and lessons.  But they do not help answer some questions as well as they could.  Gaining insight and information from another place can be very helpful.  It does not make you less a Christian or less of a Jew.  In fact, it makes you a better person of faith.  Here’s an example of the wisdom that comes from this faith:

Just because someone tries to hurt you, it doesn’t mean you have to allow it.  You do have to deal with the pain somehow.  You cannot stuff it down inside of yourself and tell yourself you are ok.  No, you gotta talk to someone.  It also helps to move onward.  Making new goals and working to obtain them really helps. You can choose to deal with the pain YOUR way.  Unfortunately, some people want to watch us suffer.  They are hurting and they do not wish to be alone in the pain.  Then, they invite you to the “party.”  You can decline this invitation.  Just find another party to go to.  There’s always another route.  Look for ” the secret path.” It’s there.  Keep your eyes peeled.  You can get away from anything if you want to badly enough.
