Grandma and I were talking about you both yesterday.  She remembered once how one of you said you’d “get a pretty dress and some high heeled shoes to catch a man and make him take care of you.” She told me she really set you straight on a few things.

1.Get a good job!  Having a man “take care of you” is a fantasy.  In fact, most likely YOU will be taking care of him.

2. A pretty dress and some high heeled shoes don’t make a girl a woman.  Her mind, her wisdom, her heart, her soul – these things balanced make a woman who is smart, savvy (aware of what is REALLY going on) and wise.  That is the woman you want to be.  You are both MUCH more than a pretty face.  And don’t you forget it!

Sure it’s nice to take yourself out and get yourself all dolled up!

But, doing this for yourself is WAY better than some husband or boyfriend “allowing you to spend the money.” Have your own money!  I have mine.  Damn it’s great to plan trips to Europe without asking permission.  I want this for you so much.  And if you find a guy that truly cherishes you and treats you well.  I’m so glad.  I want that for you too.  But he’d better have his priorities in check.  Here’s what I mean…
