Crazy busy day today! Is it ever anything else? As you know, the party was a smash! Today, I need to get my thank you cards out. When people go to all the trouble to go out, buy you a gift, wrap it up and bring it to you – the LEAST you should do is let them know, in writing, that you appreciate it. Grandma really pushed this when we were young. Plus, its fun finding the perfect note card to go along with either the theme of the party or the gift itself. (I find fun in the weirdest places, I know.) I haven’t always been good about this, but I think I’ll try to be better in the future. Here are the cards I chose. Pretty fancy, huh?!
I’m getting my name engraved on the first set of cards. The second set is going out today or tomorrow. It’s important to let people know ASAP that you appreciated their time and effort.
So, as I sit here writing my cards, I’m waiting for my friend Sonya. She is treating me to an Italian lunch this afternoon. Sonya is a mentor of mine. A mentor is someone that you look up to and admire. Sonya is about 80 years old, but she really gets around. She’s traveled and lived all over the world (Thailand, Israel, Boston). She’s very wise, but she’s rather humble about it. We have lunch every few months, to catch up on our travels. I’m listening to Dean Martin singing this song,” That’s Amore.” Pull up a chair next to me and listen. I’ll even share my spaghetti with you!
