I wonder what we could get a handle on if we could wipe our history, like a computer can?
Would it be an” eternal sunshine on a spotless mind?”
Or would it be a sad state of affairs because we have no sorrow to compare our happiness to when it arrives?
We must forgive, not for the other person – but for ourselves.
But forgetting the pain will not teach us what to stay away from the next time danger comes lurking around.
So, for a brief moment remember that the people who hurt us are teachers too.
They teach us what we should not do or be like.
They are negative examples.
Wiping your history is good to do on your computer once in a while. But humans must remember pain and sorrow, if they are to learn to live better.
Only then can you learn to trust yourself.
And that is the greatest trust of all. : )
