Last night, I was busy posting to you and I received a text from the president of our church who was leading services. She was asking if I was coming to services and wondered if I would sing this song. We are in the part of the Bible where God calls Abraham into his service. God tells Abraham that “I shall make your name great,” that he will be a leader of nations. Abraham was the very first Jew. And he “is a blessing” to the people of Israel, even today. I’ve been asked to sing this song many times before, mostly at Bar/Bat Mitvahs (Jewish rites of passage ceremonies.) but last night, I sang it for my congregation and I sang it for you. Listen to the beautiful words and know that I see the journey you are on. You are a blessing to me however you choose to go “lechi lach” or “go forth” on that journey. I am behind you 110%. You are a blessing to me always! I thought it might be best if I don’t make too many videos with my voice. So I’ll sing it to you in person, someday! 🙂
