You Belong to Me

Patsy Cline sang this song quite awhile ago.  It’s funny –  my students are starting to slip and call me “Mom.”  And I’m their “Mom” when they are at school.  They “belong” to me. They are my kids. You belong to me in a more real sense. I sort of consider myself, not only your sister, but also your “Godmother.”  You are both my spirit children. These days, I don’t really feel the need to have my own kids.  I already did all the things I would have done with them, with you.  Purity, remember our tea parties?  We used to put on hats and feather boas and sip our tea?  Bea, remember when I taught you to sew?  What I wouldn’t give to sit at my table and find myself “in stitches” with you again. That’s a clever way of saying we’d laugh together.  I’m hoping you are both taking my words more seriously, these days and reaching toward the comfort of your Heavenly Father.  You belong to him and you both belong to me. I DO NOT want you to be lonesome – EVER!  I hope you’ve found an amazing friend that makes you giggle and smile.   I love you both so much.  I want your happiness.  Just remember, no matter what, how much your big sister loves you.  XXOO
