True Story: When I was in college, I met this odd gal. We hung out in the cafeteria between classes. She was fun to talk to but she was kinda lost too. One day, we took a walk near the mountains behind the school. She confessed just how lost she was. What did I do? I listened. I tried to be there for her. That was about twenty years ago. We did lose track for awhile, but we picked up right where we left off. She’s a great friend! She’s my “always in my corner” friend. And I’m very thankful to have friends like this in my life. Today, we hung out at her home. We exchanged presents and ate good food. We talked and talked and talked. I do feel loved by this lady and I know she knows I love her too! I don’t say it as often as I should. Please, sweet sisters – find a friend who loves you for exactly who you are. Do not let go of her!
Also remember this – I need no gifts from you. Just keep on loving me and that is gift enough for me. You are my gift! I dedicate this song to my beloved friend and to you, sweet sisters. You are loved. The gifts I bought you today are proof. Enjoy Whitney Houston’s rendition of “You Were Loved.”
Heartfelt, beautiful, thoughtful and moving post.
